Spring is, by far, my favorite season because of all the pretty blooms! Last month, Ken and I decided to go on a “Garden Tour of Southern California” road trip, to try to see as many blooms as possible in Southern California. This trip also included a visit to The Flower Fields at Carlsbad Ranch, Virginia Robinson Gardens in Beverly Hills, and Descanso Gardens near Los Angeles.
Descanso Gardens is a very pretty garden located about 20 minutes from downtown Los Angeles. Since we are members of the Conservatory of Flowers in San Francisco, we have free reciprocal admissions to this garden through the American Horticultural Society’s Reciprocal Admissions Program and took advantage by visiting twice during our stay. We were delighted by all the flowers in bloom here, including tulips, magnolias and cherry blossoms in their charming Japanese Garden. March is definitely a wonderful time to visit this garden!
