There are few things that I love more than outdoor flower fields and gardens, whether they are coastal wildflowers, desert poppy fields, mountainside wildflowers, or rose gardens such as the one at The Gardens at Heather Farms in Walnut Creek, California. Being in a flower field or a garden instantly relaxes me and makes me happy. They have an inherently calming effect as you do nothing but focus on the beauty of nature for at least a few minutes. What can be better?
The rose garden at Heather Farms has a large variety of roses in pink, red, white, orange, and yellow hues which create a spectacularly colorful display. Since these are likely the finals weeks of rose season, I made sure to go back one more time to enjoy them while I can. In addition to a rose garden, Heather Farms also has a wonderful camellia grove and a daffodils field, which we were lucky to have enjoyed earlier in the year. There is also a pond with baby ducklings that we did not have time to see this time, but will hopefully see soon!
Please note – I did not pick any of the roses there! The one that I am holding was purchased at Safeway the week before and was used for a recent photo shoot of roses.
